Playing Jazz in a group is the ultimate way to learn the required skills to becoming a jazz pianist. The language of Jazz requires interaction with other players, and these skills are best learnt when playing with other musicians, such as a drummer, bass and/or guitar player. When you have reached the required level, ask your piano teacher if they can place you in a group with other jazz musicians of a similar level.
