How many hours a day should you practice violin?

It depends on your goals. A hobby violinist can make progress with only 30 minutes of daily practice. Whereas an aspiring professional might practice 2-5 hours per day to achieve the level that they require.

In this respect, practice is like working out. Beginners should start slowly, intermediate players should do more, and experienced players should do much more.
