How it Works
Step 1
Search for a teacher:
Compare different teachers based on criteria that matter to you, including location, age, experience, and teaching style.
Which flute to start with?
Beginners should opt for a standard-sized soprano recorder, suitable for both adults and children.
How much do flute lessons cost?
The prices vary from one teacher to another. The ones listed here are for indicative purposes only:
30 minutes: $35
45 minutes: $45
60 minutes: $60.
Additionally, an extra $10 (on average) should be budgeted for in-home lessons.
At what age can one start learning the flute?
The age of 6 is perfect because it’s at this age that children begin to develop the required dexterity to play the flute. They need to be able to cover the holes with their fingers. Regarding breathing, it’s also a good age because the flute requires breath control without too much effort.
