About

Music has always been part of my life. I studied clarinet at the Sèvres Conservatory in Paris, then in the arts-études program at École Joseph-François-Perrault in Montreal, before earning a technical diploma in jazz music at Cégep de Saint-Laurent and a Bachelor's in Jazz Performance at McGill University. Today, I'm a saxophonist and clarinetist on Montreal's stages and in its studios. I've played at the Montreal International Jazz Festival, the Nuits d'Afrique Festival and the Francofolies, collaborated with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, and recorded on several albums. You can also catch me at Upstairs or Dièse Onze, or as musical director of my own projects. I also write arrangements and compositions for big bands and jazz ensembles. Teaching has been part of my journey since 2017. I've been giving private lessons for almost ten years and have tutored music theory at Cégep de Saint-Laurent. I've learned that progress comes from real structure, solid fundamentals, patience and pure passion, and that's exactly what I bring to every lesson. Whether you're picking up an instrument for the first time, preparing for a cégep or university audition, or dreaming of improvising jazz, I'll share my experience as a professional musician to help you reach your goals with confidence. Lessons are offered in French, English and Spanish.

What You'll Learn

Each lesson begins with a warm-up tailored to your instrument and level: long tones, scales, rhythm or technical exercises. It's the time to get into the right mindset and work on your sound. We then go over your practice from the past week. I take the time to listen to where you're at, correct what's holding you back and highlight your progress. The heart of the lesson is devoted to your main goal: a piece, a new technical concept, theory, solfège or audition repertoire. Depending on your interests, I also include ear training, sight-reading or improvisation, so the music stays alive and concrete. We finish with a short recap: what we accomplished, what still needs work, and clear, realistic goals for the following week. You always leave knowing exactly what to practise and how.
