Young pianist Hoang Linh Chi Do was born in 1997, Viet Nam. She’s the first musician who got one of the highest scholarship from the government of Vietnam to study in Canada for bachelor degree. Before coming to Canada to pursue her dream, she also received an award for one of the 10 most excellent students in the whole country. Since winning the first prize and the special prize for the youngest candidate in Vietnam National Piano Competition at age of 10, she has become a rising star in the classical music industry with numerous solo recitals, performances with the orchestra around the country and overseas. She also achieved high prizes in the prestigious international piano competitions such as 1st runner up in Steinway Youth piano competition in Singapore, 1st prize in Concerto Piano Competition in Indonesia., 2nd prize in Hanoi International Piano Competition and Gold prize and Special prize for having the highest score in Asia International Piano Competition in Korea. Hoang Linh Chi first met professor Dang Thai Son, the winner of the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, when she was 10 years old and in 2013 she was given a full 3-week scholarship to study with him in Japan. In 2016, she has officially become Dang Thai Son’s student at University of Montreal. She completed her Bachelor Degree in Piano Performance in 2020. She is currently doing her first year of Master in Piano Performance at Montreal University. Along with her career as a pianist, she has more than 6 years of teaching experiences for young kids and adults. She loves sharing her passion for music with her students. Her main goal is to bring joy to her students through music and help them to use music as a language to express themselves.
Always start with the right posture, right hand position and warming up with scales before playing. Analyzing the piece first before playing to have general ideas what to do. Always start with simple songs first to learn the basic techniques before playing the songs that the students want. Focusing on how to play with the right techniques, how to practice in the right ways to save time and avoid injuries. Help students to understand the music theory and what it's written in the score. PRACTICE SMARTER NOT HARDER.
