Academic Pedigree

Our piano teachers in Brossard bring serious classical training to their youngest students, with backgrounds from institutions like the Schulich School of Music at McGill, Université de Montréal, and the Istanbul University State Conservatory. That training shows up as solid technique, taught gently, from the very first lesson.

Every teacher on Musiprof is vetted and background-checked before they ever meet your child. They also know how to keep parents in the loop, with clear updates on what your child is working on and how you can help at home.

Local Presence

Brossard is a young-family suburb, and our teachers work the way its families live. Many come to your home, whether you are near Quartier DIX30, close to the REM stations at Brossard or Du Quartier, or elsewhere on the Rive-Sud.

Prefer to travel? Some teachers welcome kids into their home studios, and online lessons are there for the weeks that get busy. You choose the format that fits your family.

Curated Expertise

Teaching kids is its own craft, and our Brossard piano teachers approach it fun-first: games, familiar songs, and short wins that keep young hands coming back to the keys. Underneath the fun, they build real habits — posture, hand position, note reading.

Lessons are shaped around each child's age and attention span rather than a rigid method book. As your child grows, the same teacher can point the way toward exams, recitals, or simply playing for the joy of it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there any hidden fees or subscriptions?

No. The price on a teacher's profile is the full price you pay — no subscriptions, no contact fees. Some teachers who are members of the GMMQ (Quebec Musicians' Guild) include a pension surcharge, but this is always included in the displayed price. You are only charged when a lesson is confirmed by your teacher.

Do you offer in-person lessons near me?

Yes — Musiprof primarily connects you with teachers near you for in-person lessons at home or in studio. Online lessons are also available. Beyond private lessons, we offer a band program and community recitals for a complete musical experience.

What happens after I purchase?

The teacher will contact you within 24–48 hours to schedule your first lesson. If there's no contact within that window, Musiprof follows up on your behalf.

What is the refund policy?

You only pay for lessons taken. We refund untaken lessons minus a small cancellation fee (the lesser of $50 or 10% of the remaining value).

How frequently do lessons unfold?

By default, lessons are designed to be taken once per week to help you maintain consistency and momentum. A 5-lesson package, for example, is intended to be completed in 5 consecutive weeks. However, we understand that every student's goals are unique. If your teacher agrees, lessons can be scheduled at a different frequency (e.g., every 2 weeks or once per month). Please discuss your preferred schedule with your teacher during your first contact. Your package includes a 30-day grace period after your last scheduled session. If you are doing bi-weekly lessons, ask your teacher to extend your session dates in the system to ensure your file remains active.

Is there a Satisfaction Guarantee?

Yes! We want you to find the perfect match. If your first session isn't right, contact us within 48 hours. We'll credit 50% of the lesson cost back to your account so you can try a different teacher immediately.

Why should I pay through Musiprof instead of paying my teacher directly?

Paying through Musiprof is what keeps you protected — the Satisfaction Guarantee, refunds, and dispute support only apply to payments made on the platform. Paying a teacher directly (cash, e-transfer) voids those protections, and we can't help if something goes wrong. If a teacher ever asks you to pay outside Musiprof, please let us know.

Is Musiprof like a music school with semesters?

No. Musiprof has no semesters, terms or registration deadlines. You start with a single first lesson, covered by our Satisfaction Guarantee. After that, you continue at your own pace: buy a package of lessons or pay lesson by lesson. Unused lessons are refundable, and you can switch teachers at any time.

Do I have to buy a package?

No. After your first lesson, you can buy a package (usually a better price per lesson) or pay à la carte, where your card is charged after each completed lesson. Each teacher sets their own prices and lesson formats (in studio, at home or online), so check their profile for the details.

More about piano lessons

What is the best age for a child to start piano lessons?
Most children are ready for weekly lessons around age 5 to 7, once they can focus for about 30 minutes. Our teachers also adapt to younger beginners with shorter, more playful sessions. Tell us your child's age when you request a match and we will pair you with a teacher who works well with that stage.
Can I sit in on my child's lesson?
Yes, and with at-home lessons you are already nearby. Many parents sit in for the first few lessons, then step back as their child settles in. Either way, the teacher will debrief you on progress and what to practice.
How much should my child practice between lessons?
For young beginners, five to ten minutes a day beats one long weekend session. Teachers leave a short, specific practice plan each week so you know exactly what to work on. At this age, consistency matters more than duration.
Should we choose at-home lessons or a teacher's studio?
At-home lessons are the most popular choice for Brossard families: no commute, your own instrument, and a familiar space for your child. A teacher's studio can be a good fit if you do not have a piano or keyboard at home yet, and online works well for older kids.
