About

Oleksand is the heir to the strong piano school of the Odesa city, Ukraine where the musical traditions of Svyatoslav Richter, David Oistrakh, Sergei Terentyev and other great masters of music. Oleksandr Melnychuk is a participant in jazz, academic competitions (as pianist) and vocal competitions, many jazz festivals and music projects (as pianist). Twice winner of the first place in the Rostislav Kabanchenko competition as piano player. In his youth he was called Odesa's Robertino Loretti and as a vocalist he took the Grand Prix at a prestigious competition held at the Odesa Opera Theater, Ukraine. Then Oleksandr went on tours to France as a choir soloist. After the onset of 14 years the voice changed and he continued to study piano got academic and jazz education. His "TOP OF THE DEPTH" music project was accepted into the 9 finalists of one of the most prestigious international competitions “Do # Dj Junior” where he was recognized as the best keyboard player. Oleksandr worked with a wonderful bass player, student of John Patitucci, Jeremy Sitszer (USA) as well as in the international orchestra of the magnificent trumpeter Vaughn Roberts (New Zealand) where during the period of cooperation played the experienced trombonist of the Frank Sinatra orchestra. Oleksandr played a concert with world class bass-player Anton Davidyants. Successfully played a concert at the conservatory in Esbjerg (Denmark) where he was invited by the head of the jazz department saxophonist Mark Bernstein (USA) a Berkeley graduate. By 2023, due to his musical activity, he made a way around the planet Earth and visited all continents and a huge number of countries in the world which definitely influenced the formation of his personality, worldview and creative thinking

What You'll Learn

Oleksand's approach to teaching is to inspire the student to take up music. In the early stages of teaching he trys to inspire students by playing the piano for them and showing them what can be achieved by giving examples of beautiful music and easy virtuosity. In the process of teaching hid students he pass on to them his piano skills, which have been formed over 34 years of his active musical activity and 14 years of teaching using his own method, which includes working on musical pitch, musical literacy and mastering the technical features of the piano and keyboards in different styles.
