Kian N. — Piano Teacher — Montreal

After studying with Arash Gooran (Conductor and Artistic Director of the Tehran Philharmonic Orchestra), I moved to Montreal and studied with the Persian composer and pianist Sheida Gharachedaghi. In the spring of 2019, I had an Interview with the CBC and met with Charles Richard Hamelin. Following the interview, I held a Piano Concert on Feb 5, 2020 at Palais des Congrès de Montréal for the Ambassadors Gala. In 2021, I attended Vanier College's Music Program and studied classical and jazz piano with Julia Gavrilova and Chad Linsley. I graduated from Vanier in 2025 and am currently studying in Concordia University. I am interested in the field of composition and have written music for the Puppet play Le Songe de Khèyam, for which I recieved an FRQSC Grant (Bourse pour stage d’initiation à la recherche pour la relève au collégial). I have also written music for short films such as “La Musique de l’Espace” by Pierre Carreau. I also teach Music Theory, Ear Training, and Music History at a collegiate level (all integrated into my lessons).

The first and foremost priority for me is the student's interests. I teach certain books for technical training based on the experience level, and then we pick pieces of the student's liking. I teach both Classical and Jazz genres.
