About

After university Joel spent 11 years developing his own unique teaching method, by incorporating elements from his work with Montessori’s pedagogy, private one on one and group teaching, directing his own concert bands, performing around Vancouver at numerous venues and recording for local artist.

What You'll Learn

We all have reasons for wanting to learn to play music: A specific song band or artist. The way a certain instrument sounds, or wanting to learn to write and compose music. Joel encourages and supports students to follow that curious spark and discover their musical voice. Joel guides students to achieve their musical goals whether it be learning a new song, developing as an improvisor, learning to sight read, understand theory, learning a new instrument, or songwriting!
