Tenor Enquan (Frank) Yu holds a B.Mus. (Voice Performance) degree from the University of Toronto, and is currently pursuing a M.Mus. (Opera) at UofT. Before pursuing his studies in Toronto, Frank was an avid member of the theatre and music communities in Fredericton, New Brunswick, and with leading roles in *Mamma Mia, The Wizard of Oz, Hello, Dolly*, and a smattering of supporting roles in *Grease, Beauty and the Beast* and more. Frank made his role debut as "The Old Marquis" in *A Tale of Two Cities* with University of Toronto Opera, and returned as the “Achille di Rosalba” in Rota’s *Il cappello di paglia di Firenze*. Frank was a section lead and soloist with the Toronto Youth Choir and COSA Canada (The Center for Operatic Studies and Appreciation Canada). In 2022, Frank represented New Brunswick in the National Youth Choir of Canada's tour, *Make Me a World*. In spring 2023, Frank was the conductor and music director of Toronto Metropolitan Theatre Company's production of *Something Rotten!* Frank is the conductor of the UofT Allegro Choir, a student led ensemble with focuses on Chinese and English repertoire. Frank begins his M.Mus. (Opera) studies with the University of Toronto in September.
Exploring classical, musical theatre and popular styles of singing with focuses on technique, interpretation, diction and performance skills. Fostering a welcoming environment where students have agency in their goal-oriented learning while acquiring tools to enhance their singing experience. Students are guided to further understand their own voice, physical alignment, learning style and musicianship.
