About

I have been teaching music for over 20 years, working with students of all ages—from young beginners to adults up to 55. I specialize in RCM piano instruction, guiding students through technique, theory, and performance preparation. My teaching experience includes diverse settings, including my time at the private Catholic secondary school Liceo de Cervantes in Barranquilla, Colombia. I also studied guitar performance under Roger Scannura at York University, which allows me to incorporate a broader musical perspective into my lessons. I am passionate about helping each student discover their love for music, build confidence, and achieve their personal goals, whether for exams, performances, or simply the joy of playing. In addition to teaching, I am represented by Soho Management in Toronto as an actor, an experience that informs my approach to performance, expression, and stage presence in music. I enjoy sharing this creative perspective with my students, helping them bring greater artistry and confidence to their own performances.

What You'll Learn

I provide personalized piano lessons for students of all levels, from beginners to advanced. Using a combination of Hal Leonard, Merriam Method, and RCM approaches, I tailor each lesson to your individual needs and goals. When we work together, I will guide you to: Build strong technique, hand positioning, and posture to play efficiently and comfortably. Develop sight-reading, rhythm, and music theory skills that you can apply to any piece. Explore a variety of repertoire, from classical to contemporary, based on your interests. Prepare for RCM exams or personal performance goals if desired. Gain confidence and expressiveness, helping you enjoy music while improving steadily. In my lessons, I focus on hands-on instruction, clear explanations, and supportive guidance. I aim to make learning piano fun and rewarding, helping you grow as both a musician and a performer!
