About

Hello! I'm Zhelin, a Montréal-based piano teacher and classical pianist. Teaching has been my work for over six years: since 2020 I have taught children and teenagers in one-on-one lessons, and most recently. I hold a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Music (piano performance) and a master's degree in Psychology from Humboldt State University in California, and I have performed at festivals including the North Coast Piano Festival and the Atlantic Music Festival. In my piano lessons, students get both sides of my background: solid classical training — repertoire, music theory, and sight-reading, a personal strength — and a teacher's toolkit for real learning: clear structure, small achievable steps, honest feedback, and practice plans that actually fit a student's week. I keep parents updated on progress. I teach in English and Mandarin, French is in progress, but needs time.
