Zacarie B. — Guitar Teacher — Villeray, Montreal

I started my musical learning at the age of 7 with private piano music lessons and went to a music program for the remaining years of primary school. I then started learning electrical guitar with a private teacher and really quickly practiced 15+ hours of practice per week. At 16, I won a televised talent show playing a guitar solo and then I decided to commit to music as my full time career. I proceeded to get a College degree in Pop/Jazz Music Interpretation with an extra year of Composition and Arrangement certificate. I am currently finishing my BAC in Pop/Jazz Music Interpretation at UQAM. I was part of multiple music groups, having show performance experience as well as studio recording experience.

In my perspective, a well balanced music practice involves 3 parts: mechanical exercices/warmup, music theory exercices on the instrument and learning/practicing/playing a music piece or a song. I am adapting to the student's needs and interests to help him/her grow in their musical journey. With my experience, the student can learn various music styles such as blues, rock, jazz, pop and metal to name a few ones, He can also explore improvisation and composition as early as wanted and go as deep as he wants in the theory aspects and the technical aspects of guitar playing.
