About

Tony Tang is a native of Hong Kong. He recently obtained his graduate diploma at the Schulich School of Music, McGill University. Before that, Tony earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the College-Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati, and a Master of Music in trombone performance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. As an orchestral player, Tony has performed with numerous professional orchestras such as the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Vancouver Island Symphony, National Arts Center Orchestra, Dayton Philharmonic, and the Chilliwack Symphony Orchestra Earlier in his musical path, Tony was selected as the principal trombone in Hong Kong Philharmonic-Share the Stage with Maestro Lorin Maazel. In 2014, he won the first prize in the Brass Open Class at the Taiwan International Wind Band Festival and the second prize in the Asian Open Class at the SlideAsia Trombone Festival. He has appeared as a participant at numerous regional, national, and international trombone conferences, including the Alessi Seminar, Cleveland Trombone Seminar, and Lätzsch Trombone Festival.
