Victoria June C. — Piano Teacher — Côte-des-Neiges, Montreal

After completing her studies in NYC, Victoria June Corbisiero has performed on stage in Canada, Europe, and the United States. Under the tutelage of Matti Raekallio and Paul Ostrovsky, she performed a recital featuring the music of Bach, Beethoven, Schumann, and Prokofiev at Ursula Kerk, Warmenhuizen, in the Netherlands in 2018. Since 2019, Victoria has been teaching piano in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Of American and Canadian descent, Victoria was born in Pasadena, California. Having already taught students of various ages and from different countries in both French and English, Victoria hopes to continue helping children learn the language of music, each in their own way and with their own cultural influence.

My piano lessons include theory, technique, and musical interpretation at the instrument. Lessons begin with technical exercises, playing pentachords in C, G, D, A, and E in two tonalities (Major and Minor). Once students are comfortable at the instrument, I help them perform a repertoire of pieces while following a piano method that introduces a new song week by week (or assignment by assignment). I conclude the lessons with rhythm games, where we clap the rhythm of each musical piece, along with theory homework. This follows either a conservatory-level program (preparing students for spring exams at Vincent D'Indy) or helps them compose songs and improvise on the piano. Theory assignments vary in level depending on the student. However, all my students are invited to perform on stage in March, early June, or during the winter in the inter-student competition at Vincent D'Indy, as well as in the winter and early summer recitals. these events encourage all different styles of music and even foster collaboration between my students. 😀
