Named one of CBC Music’s “30 hot Canadian classical musicians under 30,” Tiffany Yeung made her debut with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra at age 13. She was the recipient of the Canada Council Michael Measures Prize and has won prizes at the Eckhardt-Gramatté Music Competition and OSM Competition. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree with Andrew Wan at McGill University. Her previous teachers include Min-Jeong Koh, Erika Raum, Miriam Fried, and Conrad Chow. Tiffany performs on the 1869 Jean Baptiste Vuillaume violin with Vuillaume model bow, on loan by the Canada Council for the Arts Musical Instrument Bank.
I have been teaching private violin and theory lessons for almost 10 years from young, beginners to adult amateurs to advanced level violinists. I have had a passion for teaching since a young age and love to collaborate with my students on whatever their goals might be. To be successful in music does not mean to excel at an instrument, but instead, to cultivate a love and appreciation for the art. Music has a lifelong impact on all people and I want to partner with you on that journey. I tailor my teaching style to the student’s personality and individual needs and teach in a way where the student can independently identify and transfer concepts learned in the lesson within and outside of music. I personally specialize in classical music but love to tailor my lessons to the music that the student enjoys and would like to learn. I also like to include music theory throughout lessons if this aligns with the goals of the student.
