About

I graduated from Université de Montréal with a degree in Music Writing. As a composer, I have always enjoyed music in a very diverse way. My main instrument was the classical guitar but I have played the electric guitar and drums in rock bands as well as the viola in a symphony orchestra and string quartets. I have been teaching since January 2007. My youngest students were 4, my oldest student 85. I am very patient and I strongly believe that music is for everybody regardless of talent or time for practice. Music is not only for people who want to become the next prodigy, it is also for people who are looking for a little bit of time for themselves, want to experience a new challenge or fulfill a dream. Music soothes the soul and enriches the mind... and, to be honest, can frustrates you as well but in the end it is a gift that you will enjoy all your life.

What You'll Learn

Students have different goals. Some want to play in a band, others by themselves; some want to write their own music and improvise; some have a very specific artist they want to play and other have no idea. I guide my students to the path they choose, but whichever it is, there is certain basic knowledge that has to be covered. My job is to prepare students so that one day they can be autonomous and leave me :( because they know how to read any type of music notations, know their instruments well, and have the proper technique. I follow several books and have prepared my own material for different levels.
