Samuel L. — Guitar Teacher — Ville-Marie, Montreal

Montreal based guitarist Samuel Lechasseur was introduced to music and guitar as a teenager. He studied at Cégep d’Alma (Technique professionnelle de musique et chanson), at the University of Montreal (Bachelor in Jazz Interpretation) and he recently completed a Master Degree in Jazz Performance at McGill University where he had the chance to study with Carlos Jimenez and Jean-Nicolas Trottier. He is an active guitarist on the Montreal jazz scene and he is also passionate about teaching guitar and music alongside his career as a musician and composer. Samuel has played at the Festival Jazz&Blues de Saguenay, the JazzFest des jeunes du Québec. He also played in several jazz clubs in Montreal and in the rest of Quebec (Diese Onze, Upstairs, St-Angèle) with his trio, his quartet, quintet or with other musician’s groups. Samuel had the opportunity to perform with Montreal trumpet legend Kevin Dean for the “Kevin Dean and friends” and he also shared the stage with many musicians of renown. He also hosted a weekly jam session with guests like Al McLean, Adrian Vedady, Marianne Trudel and many others. He is currently working on different musical projects as a leader and accompanist (Cameron Milligan Ensemble and Jeremy Leon Quintet amongst others).
