Graduated from McGill University in Jazz Performance Lead Trumpet profile in April 2024, my experience as a musician and teacher comes from my teacher and mentor Jocelyn Couture. I have a passion for trumpet technique. I have spent many hours studying and teaching the different facets of playing the instrument. I am a specialist in ensemble playing, combining leadership and camaraderie to make music as enjoyable as possible for my colleagues and audiences. I am determined to contribute to the world of music education. I’m a team player that has a lot of experience in the brass instruments fixing.

In the forthcoming course, I aim to provide a comprehensive journey into trumpet mastery, encompassing a wide array of essential skills and knowledge. Through meticulous instruction, students will delve into the foundational aspects of trumpet playing, including embouchure refinement, breathing techniques, and posture optimization. Basic music theory and notation will be explored to equip learners with the necessary tools for musical interpretation and expression. Warm-up exercises will be incorporated to ensure physical readiness and flexibility, while lip slurs and articulation techniques will hone precision and clarity in playing. Range extension exercises will push boundaries, allowing students to explore the trumpet's full potential. Tone production, dynamics, and expression will be emphasized to cultivate a rich and emotive musical voice. Sight-reading skills will be developed to enhance adaptability and fluency in performance. Solo repertoire studies, ensemble playing, and jazz improvisation techniques (for interested participants) will provide diverse avenues for musical exploration and growth. Additionally, attention will be given to instrument maintenance, performance preparation, and stage presence to nurture well-rounded musicians. Throughout the course, a deep dive into music history and appreciation will offer insight into the trumpet's legacy and the contributions of renowned trumpeters, inspiring students to connect with their musical heritage. With a balanced and comprehensive approach, this course endeavors to empower students on their journey towards trumpet proficiency and musical excellence.
