Noah C. — Guitar Teacher — Secteur N, Brossard

I've been a guitarist for over almost 15 years. I've dabbled in rock, metal, flamenco, soul, funk, r&b (traditionnal and modern), latin pop, musica cubana, etc. From 2017 to 2019 I've played and recorded music for a band i was a part of called Blisstonia (searchable on all platforms). From there i studied flamenco for 3 years while applying to Cegep Saint-Laurent in Jazz guitar where i learned to read, write and understand music as a professional.

I teach the way i learnt and that's through music. We'll take a look at some popular songs and create exercises based on the chord progressions, solos, melodies, etc. The point of this approach is to give the student the same fun I found in figuring out songs and feeling the satisfaction of being able to figure out my favorite sounds. Reading music isn't much of a priority, unless it's specified. Guitar is such a feel instrument in my opinion that you can learn it a variety of different ways and reading exercises aren't always fun and motivating. Building strength and skill is a first priority to then add on theory as we go along.
