Nick Ryan is an electric guitarist, lecturer and composer based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He is the recepient of the Beethoven's Legacy composition prize, as well as several Canada and Quebec arts grants. His musical works have been performed by the Bozzini String Quartet, Instruments of Happiness, The Canadian Guitar Quartet and The Montreal Metropolitan Orchestra. His works as a sound artist have been presented at Art Matters, Produit Rien, Suoni del Popollo, and 21st Century guitar. He has additionally given lectures as part of Tenor Notation, Vivier Interuniveritaire and UDEM's Student Colloquiuem. He holds a bachelor's degree in music and composition from the University of Concordia, where he studied under Sandeep Bhagwati and Tim Brady. He also has a Master's degree in composition from the University of Montreal, where he studied under Pierre Michaud. He has been a dedicated guitar teacher for over a decade.
Nick Ryan loves music - all types of music! In addition to being an award-winning composer, he is the production manager for a 100 guitar orchestra and a youtuber who uses pop, rock and jazz songs to teach music theory and electric guitar online. Nick believes that passion, excitement and inspiration are the driving forces behind successful learning. To this end, his lesson plans are highly personalized and based on the unique interests and goals of individual students.
