I primarily teach classical piano, but I enjoy adapting to each student - I can also teach the basics of pop and jazz. I specialize in teaching young children, but teenagers and adults are absolutely welcome to contact me as well! I am currently a student at Uqam, working towards getting a degree in music education. I have completed two years of the program, and two internships in public schools. Before that, I studied classical piano (I have been playing for twenty years), following Vincent-d'Indy's curriculum, and obtaining the highest grade amongst pianists for my seventh year. I have also completed a collegial degree at Vincent-d'Indy in music composition, my main instrument being classical piano. I have taught in community centers and have been teaching private lessons with Musiprof for five years. I look forward to taking on new students!
Typically, a lesson starts with a dedicated technique segment (we work on adopting a healthy and efficient posture when playing and we work on developping fine motor skills), followed by some sight reading. We end by working on your piece(s). We work on music theory (and sometimes a bit of musical history too!) as needed.
