Matys C. — Drum Teacher — Ahuntsic, Montreal

Matys Colpron was born into a family of Baroque musicians, starting his musical journey at 3years old. Quickly picking percussion, he moved to the drumset around 10years old and followed by completing his studies at Cegep de Saint-Laurent, followed by his Bachelor's in Jazz Performance at McGill University. Through his studies, he loved composition and started leading his own ensemble, to this day he has 5 albums released under his name. Matys has also had the pleasure of working alongside artists of many different fields, performing shows around Canada. Deeply passionnate about teaching, he continues to work on drumming at all levels in many establishements around Montreal.

General knowledge of the drums and in depth learning of styles and songs. Technical as well as musical approach to learning the instrument. All ages and all skill levels are encouraged, anyone can play music and everyone should experience it! The lessons will be split in two parts, with a focus on technique, reading and tempo, followed by repertoire. We will explore styles and the history of the instrument.
