Marc-Antoine Tétreault (aka Marco) is a passionate fiddler, singer, and foot percussionist involved in the Quebec traditional music scene in Montreal. A graduate of Cégep and then the University of Sherbrooke, he has been playing the fiddle since 2011. Having honed his style under the tutelage of tradition bearer Richard Forest, he then refined his playing for traditional dance with David Boulanger and further developed his sound under the tutelage of Laura Risk. A member of the group Les Filles du Roy, he combines singing, fiddle, and foot percussion on stage. Dynamic and engaging, he is also deeply involved in the Montreal community by organizing and leading traditional music sessions.
I offer violin lessons tailored to each student's tastes, desires, and pace, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Specializing in traditional Quebec music, I love sharing this vibrant and engaging music, while respecting everyone's individual musical interests. Whether you're a beginner or already have some experience, the goal is to learn at your own pace, develop your enjoyment of playing, and discover the violin in a fun and pressure-free environment. The first few lessons are primarily for getting to know each other, assessing the student's level, and understanding their goals, musical tastes, and expectations. This allows me to offer personalized instruction adapted to their needs and desires.
