About

In terms of my personality, I occasionally prefer to think of myself not just as a teacher but also as a friend to my pupils since I can relate to their sentiments about studying music and inspire them. According to my prior teaching experiences, studying the piano is one of their after-school extracurricular hobbies. However, because core curriculum in schools leaves little time for extracurricular activities, students hurry to complete other assignments or activities instead. As a consequence, by providing more enjoyable instruction and setting up suitable follow-up classes, students may progressively develop a better understanding of music, while also increasing their confidence in music performance.

What You'll Learn

I've been playing the piano for almost 25 years, have a master's degree in Music Education from UCL, and am well-versed in music performance. I've taught a variety of music boarding systems, including ABRSM, RCM, and Trinity. I am familiar with both piano performance skills and music theory, including ear tests and sight reading, which are all part of RCM assessment. My teaching philosophy does not only focus on test prep; it also aims to inspire students to learn music. As students progress through piano lessons, they are able to develop a deeper understanding of music appreciation, as well as a thorough knowledge of music history and style. The emphasis is then placed on performances and a comprehensive approach to music appreciation.
