Julia is a musician, educator, and filmmaker who believes that music education should inspire confidence, creativity, and joy. She has worked with children, teenagers, and adults, helping each student develop not only technical skills but also a genuine connection with music. She holds a Bachelor of Education with a specialization in music therapy, art therapy, and dance movement therapy, as well as a professional Musician Diploma in viola and piano. She graduated with honours for outstanding academic and artistic achievement. Julia’s teaching is influenced by the Dalcroze and Gordon approaches, combining movement, listening, creativity, and strong musical foundations. She has significant experience working with early learners. This experience has given her a deep understanding of child development and play-based learning. Julia has completed numerous professional development courses and certifications in early childhood education, music pedagogy, curriculum design, trauma-informed teaching, nonviolent communication, and child development. As a violist, Julia has performed in orchestras and chamber ensembles and has also composed music for film and television productions. Her broad artistic background allows her to connect music with storytelling, imagination, and emotional expression. She has co-released an album featuring original film compositions. Above all, Julia sees teaching as a vocation. She is passionate about creating a supportive and inspiring environment where students feel safe to make mistakes, ask questions, express themselves, and discover their own artistic voice. Her goal is not only to teach music, but to help students grow with confidence, sensitivity, and a lifelong love of music.
In my lessons, you will learn not only how to play your instrument, but also how to understand and enjoy music. You will develop your technique, musicality, rhythm, listening skills, and confidence, while also having the opportunity to learn and play some of your favourite pieces :)) I also love talking about music history and sharing interesting stories and facts about composers, their lives, and the world in which they created their music. I believe that understanding the story behind a piece can make learning it much more meaningful and enjoyable. Every lesson is adapted to your individual needs and goals. My goal is to help you develop your own relationship with music and your instrument while making learning engaging, creative, and rewarding!

My daughter saw Julia for months and we couldn’t be happier. Julia is a professional, effective, and caring teacher. She adapted her classes to my daughter’s speed and ability. Julia always demonstrated patience and made my daughter look forward to her piano lessons. I highly recommend Julia to anyone wanting their children to develop their piano skills. Thanks, Julia.
