Jorge David R. — Guitar Teacher — Villeray, Montreal

I am a young, passionate, committed and disciplined Colombian musician with more than 5 years of experience in teaching music for all ages and in different cultural and social contexts, with extensive national and international experience in different types of scenes and as a session musician. Settled in Montreal since 2020, I am currently working in private schools and with private students and currently on my artistic project called Jomalé: Colombian jazz made in Quebec as well as with artists from Quebec. Education : Master's degree in jazz: Composition and interpretation (2022). Certificate in teaching (2020). Bachelor of Music: Emphasis on jazz (2018).

In the classes, we will work on 4 aspects that I consider essential in musical development: 1. Stimulation of creativity through musical improvisation and the loss of fear of false notes. 2. Technical development of the instrument and its deep knowledge. 3. Knowledge of musical styles as languages: understanding and production of messages. 4. Repertoire according to the styles worked on. My mission is to transmit to you at the same time the love, the discipline, the rigor and the patience of the art of music.
