After obtaining a Master's degree in composition from the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal, I compose music for concerts, theater, and film. I am also a multi-instrumentist (cello, piano, guitar, vocals, and the Japanese "shakuhachi" flute). I am particularly fascinated by the intersection of poetry and music, and I have written several pieces of musical theater (a form of opera). Music is the true heart of my life, and it is a great joy to share my expertise by teaching music to both children and adults.
I offer lessons that highlight creation, composition, improvisation, and the refinement of listening skills in general. It is by deepening our listening that we become musicians. It is through the pleasure of playing that we become good musicians. Lessons can cover a wide range of subjects, depending on the student's interests: Western and Eastern music theory, music of Antiquity, Medieval, Renaissance, Classical, modern and contemporary music, musical theater, songwriting, and more.
