Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Performance, McGill University
  • Professional Music Program, Vanier College

About

I have been playing guitar since childhood, and have developed my skills through three years of studies at Vanier College in their professional music program. During that time, I gained experience and knowledge in jazz, rock, pop, R&B, and many other musical genres, as well as theory and ear training. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Performance at McGill University’s Schulich School of Music, where I am continuing to build my skills in jazz and other musical styles. As an educator and tutor, I bring both technical knowledge and performing experience to my lessons. I have been teaching guitar, bass, theory, ear training, and rudimentary piano for over two years, working with students of all ages and skill levels. Whether a beginner learning chords or an advanced player tackling improvisation, I do my best to help my students gain confidence, strengthen their technique, and enjoy the process of making music.

What You'll Learn

My lessons are structured around learning about the language of music, while also teaching my student their favorite songs. Any song from any genre can always link back to how western music was created. I try to implement rudimentary theory and ear training in my lessons at a pace suitable for my students, then relate the topic back to a song we are working on. The most important part is having fun, and learning concepts that go towards my student's goals and ambitions.
