Devan M. — Bass Guitar Teacher — Beaconsfield, Beaconsfield

Education - CEGEP Vanier College - Music performance DEC in electric bass. Devan has been performing regularly in the Montreal music scene since 2015 with many rock/pop artists such as The Record Breakers, Lost Lighthouse, and Tatum Quinn. As a member of The Record Breakers, he had the pleasure of opening for Blue Rodeo in 2015 and Bon Jovi in Montreal during their 2018 tour. Devan has experience writing and recording music. He is the featured bassist on several records by Montreal artists. Since completing his music education in 2020 he has been teaching students privately on bass and guitar. He has also taught group classes at a summer rock band camp. Overall, Devan is experienced in teaching, performing, and recording many styles such as rock, pop, funk, and jazz.

I adapt my lessons to fit the needs of every student. I think it is important that students get the opportunity to learn music they enjoy. My lessons involve finding repertoire that matches a student’s musical taste and using it to teach fundamentals such as technique, sight-reading, rhythm, scales, theory, and ear training. In my experience, I have found that adjusting lessons to the preferences of each student is effective to keep them engaged and having fun.
