About

"Music has always been an integral part of my life. I always knew that my life was destined for music." Catalina was born in Bucharest, Romania. From the age of 10, the young artist sang in professional choirs as a soloist, toured extensively across Europe, made several radio recordings, and participated in various performances. At the age of 12, she even appeared on a television show where she was scouted by organizers. From the very beginning of her career in Quebec, she was noticed by the director of the vocal department at the Université de Montréal. Subsequently, she pursued advanced training in classical singing at Vanier College, McGill University, and Université Laval. Passionate and disciplined, the singer perfected her classical technique under Thérèse Sevadjan, director of the vocal department at McGill University. Since 2014, Catalina has been working with Benoit Sarrasin, who serves as her producer and vocal coach. With the support of the Centre d’art la Chapelle and several members of parliament, Catalina produced two shows under her own name: "Le refrain de ma vie" on May 8, 2014, and "Rayons d’espoir" on May 21, 2015. Currently, Catalina is working with Benoit Sarrasin on several musical projects, including a brand-new piano-vocal show at Place des Arts. On May 25, 2016, Catalina performed at L’Anglicane in Lévis in a show titled "Contre le temps." On September 10, 2016, she organized the benefit concert "Soleil d’automne." A few months later, she returned to the stage at LaScène Lebourgneuf for the production "Rêve de Noel." In November 2016, Catalina toured New Brunswick, a tour that continued into September 2017. The summer of 2017 began on a high note for Catalina with her participation as a guest artist at the "A Taste of the Caribbean" festival on June 24 at the Old Port of Montreal. On June 27, 28, and 29, 2017, Catalina continued her artistic summer journey in the city of Lévis, where she participated in the first edition of the show "SURFACE." The artist will perform at the "Bal en Blanc" festive dinner organized by Québec STYLE PROD. She will then be welcomed to the stage of the "Mondokarnaval" festival on September 4, 2017. She continued with the Surface festival, where she performed for three nights in front of tens of thousands of spectators. Details of upcoming events can be found on the Performances page. She loves sharing her passion for music. To help amateur artists experience the thrill of the stage, she organized a new singing competition in Quebec City titled "Montre-Nous Ta Voix!" (Show Us Your Voice!). The finale of the first edition took place on June 18, 2017, at District St-Joseph. Quebec artists Valérie Clio and Valade, as well as the director of the "Mondokarnaval" festival, Doina Balzer, collaborated to ensure the success of this inaugural edition. Throughout her career, Catalina has participated in numerous radio and television interviews. Over time, several artists from Romania, France, and Quebec have partnered with Catalina, leading to many more projects in the future. Thus, Catalina continues to amaze us with a voice that is simultaneously powerful, gentle, and sensitive. It is often said of her that she brings a great deal of sunshine into people's lives, as much through her music as through her personality and her smile.
