Ali Levy is a Canadian singer-songwriter, born and raised in Montreal, Quebec. Growing up, she always felt drawn to the stage; her childhood admiration for partaking in musical theatre swiftly became a gateway toward her passion of songwriting. Throughout her adolescence, Ali taught herself how to play the piano and ukulele to help deepen her songwriting practice. By teenage years, Ali’s musical discovery led her to the worlds of Jazz, R&B, and Soul music – genres that have been integral factors in her compositional process. From singing in youth Jazz orchestras to performing at The Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, it is clear that Jazz has been and always will be at the core of Ali’s overall musicianship. Keeping the Jazz tradition alive, Ali completed her bachelor's degree in Jazz Performance minoring i music entrepreneurship at McGill Univeristy in 2023. During her time in school, Ali began releasing music independently. She formed an octet consisting of voice, trumpet, trombone, tenor saxophone, electric guitar, piano, upright bass, and drums. Since then, she has frequented stages around Quebec and Ontario with her band, creating deep connections with audience members, and growing her fanbase. Her listeners have spread from Sweden and the United Kingdom, all the way back home to Canada. Ali also has the pleasure of being lead vocalist for multiple other Montreal-based bands including, but not limited to LeCypherX, Dusty Brass Band, The PMR Ska Collective, and AJF.
