Le S. — Harp Teacher — Palmerston-Little Italy, Toronto

Le Shen was born in 1994 in Beijing, China. He started learning the piano at the age of 4. He has been studying the harp with Qin Shi (Chief harpist & head of National Ballet of China) and Mei Wang (Chief harpist of China Philharmonic Orchestra, retired) since he was 12 years old. From 2007 to 2015, he played in the student symphony orchestra of middle school and university as harpist and pianist. During that time he played many classical repertoires and has gained lots of orchestral experiences. After completing a bachelor's degree in computer science at Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, he has been a guest harpist with the Tianjin Symphony Orchestra since 2017. He has also performed with many other professional orchestras such as China Symphony Orchestra, Beijing Philharmonic Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of the National Center for the Performing Artes. Since 2018, he has studied harp performance under Prof. Maria Stange at the University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart and the University of Music Karlsruhe in Germany. In 2019 and 2020, he won the first prize of the Cultural Fund Competition in Baden-Wuerttemberg for two consecutive years. Since 2019 he has started teaching piano and harp locally in Karlsruhe and also in Music School Kandel. The student group ranges from children as young as 6 years old to adults. His students range in age from six to adults. He also assists in teaching harp minors in the University of Music Karlsruhe. In 2020, he completed his undergraduate degree at University of Music Karlsurhe ahead of schedule, and entered the Mmus Performance program at the University of Toronto in the same year, where he studied with the famous harpist Judy Loman.
