Hello! My name is Jonah Brender, I am an electric and double bass player and instructor with a Bachelor's in Music from Concordia University. I have experience teaching all ages and levels, and welcome all students, no matter your experience. As a music professional, I play live music of all genres - from jazz to classical to pop and rock - very regularly around the city, and am happy to discuss this side of the industry with my students as well. My flexible lesson plan can cover electric bass playing, upright/double bass playing (both pizzicato/plucked, or arco/bowed), music theory, ear training, sight reading, groove and rhythmic vocabulary, repertoire, and more. I also offer beginner-intermediate guitar and piano lessons.

I believe in tailoring my lessons to the needs and interests of my students, whether that consists in having fun learning new songs, tightening up technique and theory, learning to play with different bands in different genres, or countless other areas of study.
