Jade M. — Violin Teacher — Toronto

From a young age, I have loved the violin and began my journey as a violinist at age three. I participated in specialized music training through elementary and high school in addition to taking private lessons, and pursued a Bachelor of Music degree at Western University. I participated in summer programs through the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, Tafelmusik, and more. I have served in numerous orchestras and ensembles throughout my musicianship, most recently serving as the Concertmaster for the Toronto Community Orchesrtra. I am passionate about building relationships with my students and fostering a love of learning, a love of violin, and a love of music!

Music lessons begin with tuning, learning parts of the instrument, and learning how to tune. From there, technique is rehearsed adherent to skill level with scales, arpeggios, studies, and more. Finally, musical repertoire of the student and teacher's choice designed to practice technical skills and to build musicality/love of violin is worked on. These pieces are the ones students may perform at recitals, etc. Finally, the student is to clean and care for the instrument and put it away.
