Amélie Monty has been passionate about music from a very young age. She has been singing since childhood and started composing at the age of 10 when her family acquired a piano. She continued to develop her creativity and expression on the piano throughout high school, enrolled in a music-focused program. She then earned a college diploma in music, specializing in jazz vocals. During her studies, she became familiar with music for visual media and modern music. Amélie pursued a bachelor’s degree in music, focusing on composition and music for visual media, where she discovered a passion for experimental, contemporary music, and choral composition. She also took private songwriting lessons with Catherine Major. To deepen her expertise, she also completed a graduate diploma (D.E.S.S.) in film music at UQAM. Driven by a deep love for the many facets of music and a desire to share its benefits, she naturally turned to teaching, where she enthusiastically shares her passion with her students. Today, alongside her teaching career, Amélie also composes original music for films, documentaries, and other artistic projects.
