Teaching Approach and Lesson Topics:

I believe that with a basic understanding of the pulse or beat, we are able to branch out into endless streams of possibility.  I use a method invented by Jacques Dalcroze that is used to feel the rhythm in your body.

We will be looking at:

• Subdivisions of the beat
• Rhythm reading
• Rhythmic games
• In-depth look at various rhythms from Latin-America

I love percussion because it lets us get lost in something greater than ourselves

Education:

BA in percussion interpretation specializing in Latin percussion from Bogota, Colombia.

I was taught a wide variety of instruments and genres within Latin-American music. I also received lessons from a grammy award-winning member of the group Los Gaiteros de San Jacinto in Tambor Alegre

Samuel offers at-home lessons in the following locations:

Downtown, Hochelaga, Plateau, Little italy, Parc-ex, Mile-end, Outremont, Old port

* an additional 10$/per lesson add-on is charged for transportation. 

Online – Not available for drum lessons.  Possible for guitar or piano lessons.
